When labor-only is the right call
• You're renting a U-Haul for the ferry and just need it loaded properly.
• You've got a POD or container in the driveway to fill or empty.
• You're moving heavy things within the house - living room to basement, upstairs to down.
• The seasonal shuffle - moving between winter and summer places with a rental truck.
• A helper bailed or the job got bigger than planned.
When you probably want a full move instead
If you need the truck, the driving, the ferry booked, and the whole thing handled end to end, that's a full move, not labor-only - see local moving. And if it's one giant item rather than a general move, see heavy lifting.
Why proper loading is worth paying for
The skill in labor-only isn't just muscle - it's loading a truck or POD so nothing shifts, breaks, or wastes space on the road and the water. A badly packed truck costs you in damage and in a second trip. We bring dollies, straps, and blankets, and we load it to survive the ferry.
How labor-only pricing works
Labor-only is hourly, with a minimum, for a crew and truck - and we tell you the rate and minimum up front, before we're booked, once we understand the job. Send a description and a couple photos for the full structure in writing. You'd be surprised how many island moves are two strong people and ninety minutes. Fully insured.
