Couch & Furniture Removal
on Martha's Vineyard
The couch went up those stairs in 2011 and it is not coming down willingly - which is the whole challenge with furniture removal here. This page covers your options for getting rid of furniture, including keeping usable pieces on-island, and how the awkward-staircase problem actually gets solved. We're Better Call Bosko, and we remove furniture in every town.
First: is it still usable?
If a piece still has life in it, it should stay on the island where it's needed rather than leave by boat as trash. Options: island thrift shops, community groups, or the buy/sell/free pages. When we haul, we do this step for you - usable furniture goes to donation first, before the transfer station.
The real challenge: getting it out
Most furniture-removal difficulty isn't the disposal, it's the carry - narrow historic staircases, tight turns, and doors two inches too small. What solves it: measuring the path, sometimes disassembling the piece, and occasionally taking a door off its hinges. A photo of the piece and the path out is what lets us plan it (and quote it) properly. Genuinely tough carries: see heavy lifting.
What we remove
Sofas, sleepers, sectionals, recliners, dressers, tables, desks, bookcases, bed frames, and whole rooms of furniture - often as part of a cleanout.
Replacing it? One trip.
New piece coming? We can deliver it and haul the old one in the same visit - see white glove delivery. Bought the replacement on the mainland or Marketplace? See on & off-island delivery and facebook marketplace delivery.
Quick answers
Do you remove single pieces? Yes - one couch is a perfectly good job.
Third-floor sectional, switchback stairs? Send a photo of the piece and stairs and we'll plan the carry.
What happens to it? Donation first where usable, disposal only when it's not.
Do I need to be home? No - curbside and garage-access removals are routine.
Get a clear quote before we start
