Shed & Barn Cleanout on Martha's Vineyard
Vineyard sheds become holding zones for everything nobody wanted to decide about - broken tools, old yard gear, construction leftovers, and things buried in the back since before you owned the place. Up-island, "shed" often means barn. This page covers how to clear one out, what's worth saving, and the access reality up-island. We're Better Call Bosko, and we do these weekly, including out past where GPS gives up.
Two things old sheds always hide
• Usable tools and gear worth donating or selling - we flag these instead of trucking them off.
• Hazardous leftovers - old fuel, chemicals, propane tanks, and paint that can't go in a regular load or the trash. Pull these aside first; they need designated collection (see the transfer station guide).
The access reality (especially up-island)
Getting a truck to the shed is half the job when the driveway is a quarter mile of dirt and the barn is behind the house. Send a photo of the approach as well as the contents - it's how we bring the right vehicle instead of getting stuck. Long driveways and mud-season conditions are normal for us; we plan around them.
What we clear
Storage sheds top to bottom, barns and large outbuildings (multi-day cleanouts), yard and garden gear, outdoor furniture, and construction leftovers. In some cases we can take the shed structure itself down - send photos and we'll tell you straight.
Quick answers
Do you handle barns and big outbuildings? Yes - those are multi-day cleanouts, quoted after a walkthrough.
Can you take the shed structure down too? Often, depending on how it's built.
Do you go up-island for these? Constantly - long dirt driveways are a normal part of our route.
Can you combine shed and garage? Yes - one trip, one quote (see garage cleanout).
